It’s time to REboot the World with Renewables!
Powering Elan

Powering Elan tells the inspiring story of how clean energy is transforming lives in a remote village in Garissa County, Kenya. Through a small solar mini-grid system, more than 200 homes now have access to electricity and a solar-powered borehole that provides clean drinking water for locals, their livestock and wildlife. This is the first time since Independence that locals have tap water and electricity. This documentary shows the power of community ownership and income involvement in implementing renewable energy projects.
Malagasy solar grandmothers enlightening hearts and homes

Through the “Women Solar Engineers” initiative, we invite you to support the emancipation of rural Malagasy women by developing access to solar energy in their villages. With a population of nearly 27 million, Madagascar today faces one of the greatest challenges in its history: the electrification of its territory. Only a minority of households, particularly in the country’s dynamic regions, have access to electricity. WWF, in partnership with Barefoot College, is actively working to remedy this situation.
Delivering Solar Energy to Remote Villages in West Africa – MOON | PFAN & ADEME Success Story

In July 2023, PFAN completed a collaboration with ADEME (the French Agency for Ecological Transition), who launched a call for projects to support companies and NGOs that develop and implement innovative solutions to improve access to off-grid energy in sub-Saharan Africa. Over the last two years, PFAN provided support through business advising and the evaluation of their impacts to nine selected companies.

Building resilience in the face of climate impacts and colonialism in Puerto Rico

After Hurricanes Fiona and Maria, thousands of people died in Puerto Rico in part due to power outages that lasted up to a year. The island’s dependence on fossil fuels leaves many people without electricity and affects their quality of life during climate disasters.
In this short documentary, Arturo Massol-Deya, the Associate Director at Casa Pueblo in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico, shows how the community center is leading a renewable energy transition throughout the region, building independence and resilience in the face of climate impacts and colonialism.
Uruguay’s Incredible Renewable Energy Transition
In just a decade, Uruguay flipped the script – from being a fossil fuel dependent country to being powered on 98% renewable electricity. What did this transformation bring as a result? Lower costs. More jobs. Real resilience to global shocks. This isn’t just an #energysecurity win – it’s proof of what’s possible when political will, public support and trust in renewables act as one.
